In 2006 "Mil" merged with Kamov and Rostvertol to form Oboronprom CorpHelicopters. "Mil" is the short name of the Soviet Russian helicopter producer Mil Moscow Helicopter. "Mil" currently participates in the Euromil joint venture. The PZL factory was bought by the Spanish company EADS/CASA and since then has been known as PZL Warszawa-Ok�™cie SA

Developed from the basic Mi-8 airframe, the Mi-17 is fitted with various engines, larger rotors, and a heavier transmission developed for the Mi-14, along with fuselage improvements for heavier loads. One of the available optional engines for 'hot and high' conditions are the 1545 kW (2070 shp) Isotov TV3-117VM. Modifications can include a new large door on the right side, an improved Czech-built APU, a loading ramp in place of the usual clamshell doors, which will load a vehicle up to the size of an SUV.

Since the late 1980s, �šwidnik a state-owned corporation until 2010 when the factory was acquired by AugustaWestland has been producing the Polish-designed medium helicopter PZL W-3 Sok��‚. Certification to US FAR Pt 29 standards was granted in May 1993. The Sok��‚ is of conventional design and construction, with two PZL-10W turboshafts Composites are used in the three-bladed tail and four-bladed main rotors.The Sok��‚ is offered in a number of variants and is capable of performing a typical range of helicopter missions, including passenger transport, VIP, cargo,EMS, medevac, firefighting and search and rescue.

    Mi-2 Hoplite (001)

�šwidnik a state-owned corporation until 2010 when the factory was acquired by AugustaWestland is the exclusive producer of the widely used  Mil Mi-2. The Mi-2 was produced exclusively in Poland, in the WSK "PZL-�šwidnik" factory in �šwidnik. Production ended in 1985 after about 7,200 were made. Developed with plastic rotor blades and the availability of the wide-body Mi-2M which can seat 10 passengers. Most typical kits are air ambulance with four stretchers, or aerospraying and cropdusting versions.
